Carolyn Webb, Senior Vice President-Finance/CFO Announces Her Plans to Retire

Carolyn Webb, our Senior Vice President-Finance/CFO has announced her retirement after almost 29 years of service to Austin Telco. Carolyn began her journey with us on October 1, 1981; at that time assets were less than $9 million. With over $1 Billion in assets as she retires in June, Carolyn has played a vital role in the growth and success of Austin Telco. Carolyn’s guidance has helped Austin Telco through mergers, data processing conversions, membership expansions and the opening of 17 branch locations. She will be greatly missed by all of the staff and volunteers at Austin Telco and we wish her the best in her retirement. Carolyn intends to spend her time traveling, being with her family and of course- spoiling her grandchildren! Best wishes Carolyn and thank you for all you have done for Austin Telco!

We are pleased to announce that Robert Hernandez will take over Carolyn's role as Senior Vice President-Finance/CFO on July 1, 2010. After graduating from the University of Texas in 1995, Robert joined Greater Texas Federal Credit Union as a staff accountant. Following several promotions, he served as SVP/CFO for almost 10 years. Austin Telco is excited to welcome Robert Hernandez to his new position.

Your Overdraft Privilege Ends August 15th Unless You Opt-In

Federal regulations are changing the way we can provide you with overdraft protection services on your checking account. Overdraft Privilege allows us the discretion to authorize ATM and one-time VISA check card transactions even if you do not have enough money in your checking account to cover the transaction. Overdraft privilege could save you the hassle and embarrassment of declined transactions at your local restaurant or merchant, and offers you peace of mind for the times when you need it most. In order for us to continue this service on your account, you must Opt-In before August 15th. Opt-In will be available soon to all members through MemberConnect, by phone, or at any of our branch locations.

Branches in the Works

Our 18th Austin Metro location is scheduled to open on Thursday, July 22. This full service branch is located in Austin at Tech Ridge near the intersection of IH 35 and Howard Lane.

The newest branch in the works is located in San Marcos on the south east corner of Hwy 80 and IH 35. Construction has begun, with an anticipated completion date of November. We look forward to continue building relationships throughout the Austin Metro area!

Fresh New Look for Bill Pay Coming Soon

We are excited to announce the redesign of our Bill Pay services, which will launch later this month. Bill Pay will feature a newly designed, user-friendly layout with a fresh new look and enhanced user capabilities.

Austin Telco’s Bill Pay service offers the convenience of paying all of your bills from one site. Bill Pay allows you to pay almost anyone, from your mortgage, car payment and even the babysitter. Plus, with our payment guarantee you can rest assured your payments will arrive on time. Get assistance with payment inquiries, making payments and adding new payees, day or night by calling 1-877-287-1080.

What is the cost for Bill Pay? Austin Telco offers all members with checking accounts a two month Bill Pay trial period. After the trial period, the monthly fee of $4.25 is waived for members who pay at least three bills and have either a direct deposit or an aggregate average balance of at least $10,000 under a single account number.

Can I still use Bill Pay if I don’t have direct deposit, an aggregate balance of $10,000 or pay fewer than three bills per month? Absolutely! All members with active checking accounts can use Bill Pay services for the low fee of $4.25 per month.

Why should I use Bill Pay? Rather than mailing your personal check, Bill Pay offers the security of online payment transactions and reduces the risk of fraud. Additionally, with Bill Pay there is no need for paper checks and no more licking stamps or stuffing envelopes! Finally, Bill Pay offers the peace of mind in knowing that with our payment guarantee, if you do encounter an issue you can access our 24/7 member care line and we will work to have the issue resolved.

How do I sign up for the Bill Pay service? By simply logging in to MemberConnect and clicking “Sign up for Bill Pay” under the “Bill Pay” tab. It is as simple as that! Canceling is just as easy.
