I need a cancelled check for direct deposit.

If a physical check is necessary to set up direct deposit you can visit a branch location to obtain temporary checks. These come in a count of 4 for a $2 fee. If a form resembling a voided check is acceptable, please contact us during regular business hours and we can assist with providing you this form.

You can also set up E-Statements under Settings > Statement Delivery Preference, which sends your statements as PDF documents via email.

Yes, you're welcome to visit a branch to receive an instantly issued debit card. However, please note that once your new account is finalized, a debit card is automatically mailed to the address on file. Delivery typically takes 7 - 10 business days.

If you choose to visit a branch for an instant issue card, the mailed card will be deactivated and replaced. You should securely discard the mailed card once it arrives, as it will no longer be valid.

How do I update the name on my account?

To update your name on your account, we require the following:

A valid, government-issued photo ID (such as a State Driver's License or Texas ID card) showing your new legal name.
A signed Account Change Card from the individual requesting the name change.

This request can be completed in person at any branch or submitted via secure message through online banking. If submitted digitally, please attach a copy of your updated ID. We will then send the Account Change Card to you via DocuSign for signature.

How can I withdraw funds from my share certificate?

Withdrawals from share certificates cannot be made through the mobile app or digital banking. To request a withdrawal, please send us a secure message through digital banking. One of our employees will review your request and complete the transaction for you. Optionally, you can come into one of our locations.

How do I close my ATFCU account?

Accounts can be closed in person or through secure email with the completion of an account closure form by the primary account holder.

All loans must be paid and the account must be in good standing. Card access and digital banking access will be terminated at account closure. Members are responsible to ensure that all transactions have cleared the account and deposits are cancelled. Any member initiated or approved transactions not yet processed at the time of closure may still be negotiated and any negative balance will be the members responsibility.

How do I open a trust account?

To open a Trust account at Austin Telco FCU, the trustees must first meet our membership eligibility requirements. Where can I find my PIN?

When you receive a new debit card, your PIN is mailed separately for security purposes. If you have your current PIN and would like to change it, you can do so through Online Banking or by calling 800-252-1310 and selecting Card Services. If you need additional assistance, an ATFCU representative can help.

Is there a 24-hour service that can help me resolve issues with my closed debit card?

If you received a fraud alert from Falcon, our fraud monitoring service, they can assist you 24/7 with issues related to that alert. If your debit card was closed and you did not receive a notification from Falcon, assistance is available during normal business hours only.

When will my new card arrive after my card expires?

Renewal cards are generated in the middle of the month before your card expires. Your current card will expire on the last day of the month listed on the front of the card. (i.e. 09/26 would mean the card expires September 30, 2026)

How can I get a credit card loan advance?

You can request a credit card loan advance by phone, through digital banking, using the ATFCU mobile app, or by visiting any ATFCU branch. The funds will be deposited into your share account. You can also request a cash advance at any financial institution that offers this service. There is no cash advance fee on your Austin Telco card; however, interest begins accruing on the date of the advance. Please review your credit card agreement for full details.

Where do I find pending deposits?

Pending deposits are available for review through Online Banking under the Share that is receiving the deposit. If you do not see a Pending transaction indicator, we have not yet received a transaction to post to your account.

How do I place a stop payment in Online or Mobile Banking?

To request a stop payment:

Go to Services > Stop Payment.
Choose Single Check or Multiple Checks.
Select the account the check(s) were written from.
Enter the required check information.
- For a single check: enter the check number.
- For multiple checks: enter the starting and ending check numbers.
Add any optional details, such as the check amount, date, payee, or notes.
Click Request Stop Payment to submit your request.

Note: You can track the approval status of your stop payment request in the Activity Center. Once approved, the stop payment remains in effect for six months.

I am trying to link accounts using Plaid

If your external financial institution supports Plaid, you can link your account instantly through Digital Banking:

Go to Transfers & Payments.
Click Manage External Accounts.
Select Link via Instant Verification.
Enter the requested information through Plaid to verify your external account.
Once verified, the account will appear under your external accounts and be ready to use for transfers.

If Plaid instant verification isn't available for your account, you can use the Micro-Deposits option to manually verify the account.

Does ATFCU support Plaid?

Yes. ATFCU Digital Banking supports Plaid for instant verification of eligible external accounts.

To connect an external account, go to Transfers & Payments > Manage External Accounts and select Link via Instant Verification. You will then be guided through Plaid's secure verification process. Once verified, your external account will appear in your list of linked accounts and can be used for transfers.

If your financial institution is not eligible for Plaid's instant verification, you can still link your account using the Micro-Deposit verification method.

Plaid availability depends on your external financial institution's participation in the Plaid network.

How to connect plaid?

You can connect an external account instantly through our Plaid integration.

Log in to Digital Banking.
Navigate to Transfers & Payments.
Select Manage External Accounts.
Click Link via Instant Verification.
Follow the prompts to securely sign in to your external financial institution through Plaid.
Once your account is verified, it will appear in your list of external accounts.
Click Continue to finish setup.

Note: Instant Verification is only available for participating financial institutions. If your institution is not supported, you can add the account using the Micro-Deposit verification method instead.

You can deposit checks through the Mobile App through Remote Deposit. If you do not see this option available to you, please reach out to us through a Secure Message or call us during regular business hours.

How do I set up alerts for my account activity?

To set up alerts for account activity, you first log into Digital Banking, click on 'Settings' and then click on 'Alert Settings'.

For card transaction alerts, go to Cards menu, select the card then select Alerts and follow the prompts.

Why do I always get an error when I click Bill Pay that makes me log in again?

Bill Pay requires pop ups to be allowed on our Digital Banking Platform. If you have pop ups blocked, this could be causing the error to appear and forcing you to log in again.

Why is the Secure Access Code Sent via Text or Phone Call?

We send the Secure Access Code exclusively through a text message or phone call to enhance security. Text messaging and phone calls are more secure than email, which can be vulnerable to interception and phishing attacks. By using a text message or phone call, we ensure that your Secure Access Code reaches you directly and securely.

What is a Secure Access Code?

A Secure Access Code is a unique one-time use code sent via text message or call to the phone number we have on file for your account. This code is your key to accessing our Digital Banking services.

Retrieve my Login ID, or reset my password

Go to the Login screen on our website/mobile app and choose "Retrieve Login ID" or "Reset Password." Follow the prompts to recover or create credentials.

What is a username/Login ID?

A username, also known as a Login ID, is a unique identifier that you create to access your account. Unlike using an Account Number, a username is both personalized and easier to remember.

Why does my external account have a different number when linked through Plaid?

Institutions like Chase may use a virtual or tokenized account number (VAN/TAN) for secuity, this doesn't affect transfers.

ATMs & Branches

Are there fees for using ATMs outside of the network?

ATFCU will not charge you an ATM fee for using one outside of our network, but the owners of the ATM may still charge your account.

You can find a list of our ATMs through our FREE Local ATM Locator.

Your ATM is down, how can I access my money if the branch is closed?

We understand how important it is to have quick access to your funds. While each of our branch locations has an on-site ATM, there may be rare occasions when a machine is temporarily unavailable. In those cases, you're still covered! ATFCU is part of the Alliance of Austin Credit Unions, giving you access to over 300 fee-free ATMs across the area. You can quickly locate the nearest available ATM by visiting our FREE Local ATM Locator.

How much will I be charged if I use a non-ATFCU ATM?

The fee you will be charged for using a non-ATFCU ATM is based on the owners of the ATM. ATFCU does not add additional charges for this transaction.

Can I deposit my coins at ATFCU?

Most branch locations can provide coin deposit services for Austin Telco members based on machine availability. Coin should not be rolled and member accepts deposit amount as calculated by the change machine.

How do I close my Safe Deposit Box?

Safe Deposit Boxes can be closed at the location of the box to ensure a final review of the box and removal of any contents can be completed. The two keys issued at the time of rental are also due back at the time of closure. A $10 key replacement fee will be applied if only one key is returned. If both keys are lost, a drill box fee will be applied.

What should I do if I suspect fraud on my account?

If you suspect fraud on your account, contact us immediately during regular business hours or through a secure message. Keep a record of receipts and charges you believe are fraudulent. Depending on what type of fraud, it is recommended to change your password for added security.

Will Austin Telco ever ask me for my Secure Access Code?

To protect your account and personal information, it is vital that you do not share your Secure Access Code with anyone. Austin Telco will never contact you asking for your Secure Access Code.

If you receive such a request, it is a fraudulent attempt to gain access to your account. Hang up or don't respond to the text and reach out to us directly.

Remember: Do not share your Secure Access Code with anyone. Austin Telco will never ask for your Secure Access Code. Keep your phone number updated with us to ensure you receive your Secure Access Code.
